Professor David Eisenstat

Director, Children's Cancer Centre, The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne

Professor David Eisenstat is a paediatric neuro-oncologist and developmental biologist who trained at The Hospital for Sick Children, UCSF, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. From 1999-2011, David was Senior Investigator at the Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology, Director of Neuro-Oncology and Program Director, Advanced Degrees in Medicine, University of Manitoba. From 2011-2020, he was Kids with Cancer Society Chair in Pediatric Oncology at the University of Alberta, Co-Director of the Cancer Research Institute of Northern Alberta (2014-2017) and Professor and Chair, Dept. Oncology (2017-2020). In 2020, he is Director, Children’s Cancer Centre, Royal Children’s Hospital and Group Leader, Neuro-Oncology, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. David’s research focuses on the developmental origins of paediatric brain tumours.
